Some people have a really great time at music festivals, no matter where they are held. Other people however have a terrible time, often swearing off music festivals for good. So what's the reason for these two very different reactions? It all has to do with the gear you take with you. Carrying the wrong things can turn any music festival into a nightmare. Having the right set of essentials can make your music festival experience a pleasant and enjoyable one. Wear Sunscreen It's surprising to note how many people don't carry sunscreen with them to music festivals. Think about it - you will be spending hours standing in the sun, watching your favorite bands. It just makes good sense to go out into the sun well protected. Remember to reapply your sunscreen ever few hours. A headlamp is one thing that every seasoned music festival addict will have. This is basically a lamp that is strapped around your head - it can be very useful for a number of things - whether you need to find the toilet in the dark or just make your bed. A headlamp is one of those small things you'll be really thankful for. Toilet paper is another thing you should always carry with you. You'll be glad when the paper in the portable toilet runs out! But apart from that, they make great facial tissues as well. This brings us to our next music festival essential - baby wipes. These are a great way to keep fresh and clean, even when you don't have the facilities to take a shower. It's also a good idea to have a simple First Aid Kit with you as well - make sure you have a few band aids, some headache medicine and glucose tucked away in there.
Replenish Yourself If you're going to be out in the sun all day, it's also important to keep your body hydrated at all times. Of course it's important to take in as much water as possible - but you also need to replenish your essential mineral salts as well. This is why it's a good idea to take along some sports drinks as well. Also remember to carry along some blankets - at some point during the day, you're going to want to sit down and rest your legs. Blankets are ideal because they are easy to carry and you can stretch out on them for a snooze as well. However, there are easy-to-carry foldable chairs that you can carry too. Last but definitely not least, carry a knapsack. It's true that you're probably not going to be carrying around much stuff but keeping it all in a knapsack can be very convenient. There's always room to put in some extra things - apart from that, you only need to keep your eye on one bag. When you're trying to enjoy a music festival, the last thing you want to worry about is lugging around three pieces of luggage. If you're traveling with friends, it's also a good idea to carry along a cooler. This will keep your drinks cold and also double up as a convenient bench.
